“Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights!”Psalm 148:1
It is easy right now to criticize. With everything going on in the world, it isn’t hard to find fault with the way others are handling things. If we’re honest, it probably isn’t that hard to find fault with the way we are handling things. It seems right now that everyone is an expert on everything, so everyone is a critic of everyone. When criticism is the air we breathe, it isn’t surprising that being critical becomes our primary setting, but Psalm 148 calls us to reset our hearts, minds, and lives to their default setting. We were not created to criticize. Everything in the heavens and everything on earth exists to praise the Lord. Every king and every people, young and old, exist to praise the Lord. We were created to praise the God who made us and made everything we see. In a world where it’s easy to criticize what’s going wrong, the Lord is worthy of praise.
Today, let’s praise the Lord! His majesty is above heaven and earth, and He is near to His people. Praise the Lord!
