Romans 7-8

Read Romans 7-8.

Nobody. Nothing. These are Paul’s answers to who or what is able to separate those loved by God from the God who loves them. In The Message, Eugene Peterson phrases Romans 8:38-39 this way “I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” This is Paul’s conclusion as he reasons with the Romans about the law, the flesh, and life in the spirit. There are lots of things in this world that seek to distract us from the love of Christ, but none of them are any match for God’s love for you. I pray that we can face today just as convinced of that as Paul was when he wrote to the Romans.
