Acts 28

Read Acts 28.

[31] proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.

Acts 28:31, ESV

I think there’s an implied postcript to the book of Acts, an unwritten tag that lets the reader know that this story is “to be continued.” Or as the musical duo known as the Carpenters taught us, “We’ve only just begun.” As the book concludes, we find the apostle Paul in Rome, the capital of the empire. We certainly don’t find him free from constraints. He had some measure of freedom but still found himself under Roman guard. What he did, however, is what we who follow Christ continue to do today–he proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about Jesus “with all boldness and without hindrance.” That’s a story that continues today, a story we’re invited to join.
